Set design for Forbes
Here's the cover of the Forbes Special Philanthropy issue (at your newsstand now). The photo shoot took place during the Philanthropy Summit on Education at the New York Public Library. I created the set design, which included preliminary sketches and the acquisition of 250-some-odd books. Pre-production fabrication and configuration of the flats and books was done in my studio. The panels were designed to travel flat with space in between as the open book pages were quite fragile. Installation was done the day before the shoot as it took all day to set up and the final touches of taping down the top pages was a bit involved.

I've been experimenting with making my own materials. The above piece titled, "time wave (colonial)" is made from blueberry ink with a pheasant quill pen on 100% cotton rag paper.

Rodney King
Sunday, 4:30pm show at BRIC. Went and saw Rodney King, a performance piece created and performed by Roger Guenveur Smith. So incredibly powerful. His vibrant and painful monologue ran non-stop as he masterfully expressed his interpretation of Rodney King's life.
Afterwards, a Townhall meeting was held (panelists above) and concerned citizens weighed in on the events of the last couple weeks. Black lives matter.
